In this painting, I sought to capture the lightness and promise of life’s first steps. Two children walk hand in hand by the sea, as if the horizon could fit entirely in their hands. I wanted to convey both the fragility and strength of childhood through my semi-figurative, semi-abstract style, using impasto, subtle lines, and shapes that echo memories.
