The Horizon in Her Arms
O Horizonte nos Seus Braços
In this work, I sought to capture the moment when an embrace becomes landscape. I chose to portray mother and daughter contemplating the sea to convey protection, continuity, and the idea that the horizon begins within an embrace. I use a semi-figurative, semi-abstract style, with vertical lines and fragmentation suggesting time and memory. I apply impasto to create physical texture and relief, adding density to the blue tones and light.
